Project Name: Construction BIM Design of World Cup Bridge
Location of Project: Yangpyeong-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu (Seobu Expressway) ~ Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu (Jeungsan-ro)
Scale of Project: Width 31.4 (6 lanes both ways), total length of 1,98km
Main span bridge: 855m (asymmetric hybrid cable stayed bridge, distance of Main span: 225m, Height of main tower: 100m)
Accessing bridge: 1,125m (norther end: 349m, southern end: 776m)
Connecting roads: 6,923m (5 locations in the northern end: 4,030m + 6 locations in the southern end: 2,893m)
World Cup Bridge, which will be the 27th bridge that crosses the Han River, is a cable-stayed bridge with the total length of 1,980m and the main tower in the configuration of the 10-story stone pagoda of Wongaksa Temple Site, which is the National Treasure No. 2 of Korea, with the height of 100m from which cable extends downward obliquely.
The main tower is tilted with the incline of 78o for asymmetric arrangement in order to conjure up the image of mast of traditional Korean ships with yellow colored sail that used to sail through the blue waters of Han River in the past.
It is anticipated that the construction of the World Cup Bridge will be greatly helpful in easing the traffic congestion over the Seongsan Bridge with huge traffic congestion from the traffic imbalance between the road networks in the south and north of the Sengsan Bridge presently.
BIM Support Team of Seoyoung Engineering Co., Ltd. was able to assist with the successful management of the site by executing confirmation of linearity, interference with the existing road, reviewing of the clearance, and review of the reinforcement bar and constructability by using Digital Mock up through the BIM design of the World Cup Bridge (main span, accessing bridges and connecting roads).
